Cordless Phone Headsets

While mobile phones have gained popularity over recent years landline phones are still widely used and the most common and convenient available these days is cordless phones. These are widely available for purchase and for an even more convenient phone experience, cordless phone headsets can be used with these.

Cordless phone headsets come in two basic styles. A wired headset can be simply plugged into the phone and the headset used to communicate. However as the headset is physically connected to the phone you have to carry this with you and having somewhere to store this such as a belt clip can help. A wireless headset is also available and this typically has its own base station which connects to the base station of the phone. This is completely free of the cordless phone and can simply be worn for use with the cordless phone remaining in its base station.

Using cordless phone headsets can have a few advantages over using the handset. It keeps both your hands free and this means you can be doing other things while talking on the phone. You can be cooking, cleaning or doing any number of other tasks around your home while you chat on the phone. Using a headset can also be a more comfortable way of using the phone if you need your hands free. Cradling a handset between your head and shoulder can be uncomfortable and can lead to a stiff neck, shoulders and back if you do it for too long. Using a headset allows you to adopt a more natural posture while using both hands and this will be of benefit to you.

There are a few different companies that manufacture cordless phone headsets and amongst these are AT&T, Uniden and Plantronics. The cost for these will vary with typically a wired headset being much more affordable than the wireless models. An example of a corded model is the Uniden HS910 Headset for Cordless phone which costs around $30. This is a lightweight model with a 2.5mm jack to plug it into the phone and provides the convenience of hands free phone use at an affordable price. Typically if you are considering a corded headset these lie in a price range of around $20 to $50 to purchase.

A wireless model can be more expensive and typically the cost of these cordless phone headsets can be around $100 at the more affordable end of the market and this can rise to $200 or greater for more expensive equipment. An example of this is the AT&T TL7610 DECT 6.0 Digital Cordless Headset which is on sale for around $145. This has an operating range of around 500 feet which is one of the best on the market and offers extended battery life with 12 hours of talk time available between charges.

The convenience of a cordless phone can be enhanced by the use of cordless phone headsets. They are simple devices which offer hands free phone use and this can make your life easier. It is simple to move around your home or office and do other tasks while staying in communication and this makes them excellent equipment to have available.
